Gratitude and Thanksgiving
by Owen Waters
Gratitude is a key that opens the door to the flow of
unconditional love through your heart. The heartfelt expression
of gratitude, either in words or in thought, focuses on the
plenty that you have rather than anything that may be missing
in your life.
The traditional American holiday of Thanksgiving dates back to
the early pilgrims in Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts in 1621.
As pilgrims, they were inclined to fast and pray for all the
things that they desperately needed.
When Founding Father Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) wrote of
those times, he understood the great value of gratitude. He
said:
"There is a tradition that in the planting of New England, the
first settlers met with many difficulties and hardships, as is
generally the case when a civilized people attempt to establish
themselves in a wilderness country. Being so piously disposed,
they sought relief from heaven by laying their wants and
distresses before the Lord in frequent set days of fasting and
prayer."
All that praying and fasting, he said, made them "gloomy and
discontented." Happily, he went on, a farmer "of plain sense"
suggested to the Pilgrim Assembly that instead of continuing to
bother the Lord with their complaints and requests, they for
once thank Him for the blessings they had been given. For
although times were still hard, things were getting better.
Instead of a fast, the farmer suggested, it would be more
fitting to proclaim a day of thanksgiving. His advice was
heeded, and "from that day to this," as Franklin said, we have
"every year observed [these] circumstances of public felicity."
In the case of the pilgrims, gratitude opened them up to
receiving ever more of the blessings of nature. Prior to that,
their want had been closing down the natural flow of abundance
and making their circumstances seem even harder than they were.
Giving thanks is the expression of gratitude, and gratitude is
one of the most beautiful secrets in spiritual life.
Gratitude is a form of love, and love is something which flows
from the Creator of the universe through all forms of life and
manifestation. Without love, life in the universe cannot exist.
Love is the universal force of preservation which holds
creation in manifestation.
The Natural Flow of Love
Love is as natural as the universe. By design, there is a
tension between the forces of creation and universal love. It
is this tension which controls the size of the universe,
holding it within its envelope. It is this tension which
regulates the size of an electron's orbit around a nucleus.
Love is the force which retains electrons in their orbits,
making atoms possible and the existence of life as we know it.
You can block love, or you can allow it to flow naturally
through you. Falling in love with another person is an
allowance of the flow of love through your heart. In a world
where everything has the appearance of separateness, it is a
surrender to the underlying unity of all life. It is a place of
apparent vulnerability, a willingness to take the risk that
separation will once again return if that love is later lost.
When you allow your heart to open to the universe's flow of
love, gratitude comes with that flow. Gratitude for being
alive, for just existing, for just being in the flow of the
adventure of life. Gratitude for the Sun that gives us life.
Gratitude for the Earth that gives us our home in the cosmos.
Gratitude for the people that you love, and for those who share
your journey through life.
Gratitude flows unimpeded from an open heart. When you allow
it, it flows as freely as the sunshine, unobstructed by
judgments or conditions.
Quality of Life
One of the most endearing things a person can say to a loved
one is this:
"I'm grateful for having you in my life, and I appreciate you
for who you are."
If you haven't already tried this, try it sometime. It adds
new meaning to the words, "quality of life."

Many Benefits of MeditationThe Many Benefits of Meditation
by Owen Waters
The hustle and bustle of today's fast-paced world almost makes
you want to cry out, "Where can I find some peace and quiet?"
Meditation has become a very popular answer to the need for
balance in today's fast-moving society. Meditation was
designed primarily for spiritual development, rather than
mental or physical benefits. However, by nourishing the
spiritual self, its benefits are then reflected throughout the
human mind and body.
Spiritual benefits:
Human beings function on spiritual, mental, emotional and
physical levels, with each level impressing the next. Your
soul impresses your mind and helps you to choose your beliefs
about reality. These beliefs then channel your thoughts into
patterns which fit into that view of reality. Your thoughts
feed into your emotions, and your emotions affect the
well-being of your physical form.
It makes sense, therefore, to see that the root of the human
tree, your spiritual self, is given the best possible
nourishment.
Through meditation you contact the most real part of you.
This part is the spiritual source which existed before your
physical body was formed. Through contact with that reality,
the essence of your soul, you become more identified with
that inner you. Your inner self is who you really are. Then,
you begin to realize more of your potential because you are
able to identify what that potential is.
Your soul is the fountain of wisdom within you. It has access
to all information in the universe because it is consciously
connected to the entire universe. Your soul is your personal
connection to Infinite Being.
Through contacting your inner self, you become more aware of
your greatest inner joy. When you follow that innermost joy,
you consciously resonate with your soul and manifest your
true potential in life. This inner resonance enhances your
intuition, making you more capable of choosing the best
options in life. This increases the synchronicity in your
life as you have then achieved a natural flow which is more
in harmony with the universe around you.
Mental benefits:
Living in the now is a spiritual practice and a habit which
requires mental attention. By focusing on the now, you bring
inner issues under control. Your belief system says that you
cannot change the past, and that you can only change the
future by acting in the present. It is therefore the "now"
which holds the key to effective action. When past-related
regrets or future-related worries are brought into the now,
they can be experienced, examined for what they are, and then
acted upon.
Meditation is well-known for producing increased mental
clarity. Greater concentration and creativity are produced,
as well as greater memory. The expression of creativity is one
of the great natural joys in life, one which appears more and
more as you follow your true path through life.
Emotional benefits:
The more you contact your inner self, the more you understand
who you really are. This brings forth a balanced sense of
self-esteem, one which relies upon your true self rather than
the judgments of others.
Inner strength is awakened. This is a calm and self-assured
strength, one which helps you face stress and anxiety with
renewed energy and poise.
With stress under control, your capacity for happiness is
naturally expanded.
Physical benefits:
Meditation provides a deep form of rest that works wonders for
the human nervous system. This increases the human capacity
for managing stressful situations and provides a sense of
increased energy for handling all aspects of daily living.
Meditation brings the body, mind, emotions and spirit into
harmony. Disease is a word meaning "dis-ease," literally a
form of discord which reflects from the emotions onto the
physical body. Extensive research projects have produced valid
claims for meditation helping control many ailments, including
hypertension, anxiety and panic attacks.
With as many benefits as these, it is little wonder that
meditation has become such a popular tool in helping people
cope with today's fast-paced world.
The Infinite Being Meditation technique is designed for the
ultimate in spiritual results, yet it reflects its benefits
throughout your entire system, nourishing your mental,
emotional and physical bodies.
Make meditation your daily haven of spirituality in today's
noisy world. In no time at all, your morning meditation
session will become the highlight of your day.

Infinite Being-"Unconditional Love"Unconditional Love
by Owen Waters
The purpose of being human, as we shift into the New Reality,
is to learn about heart-centered consciousness.
The universe is, by its very design, filled with the love of
the Original Creator. Universal love is the aspect of Original
Consciousness which holds Creation together. In the Original
Creation, Infinite Being divided its consciousness into two
complementary aspects - thought and feeling - and then set them
into motion.
The love of the Original Creator forms the very fabric of
space. No material thing and no part of "empty" space is devoid
of that love. Universal love is literally everywhere. However,
the human condition is only affected by this love when it is
channeled into the human realm through its use by humans.
We are here on Earth to learn how to translate universal love
into human form.
Once universal love has been transformed through the
consciousness of any individual human being, it enters the
global mind atmosphere of Earth. We all share constant access
to this global mind. While we initiate thoughts and feelings on
our own, we also receive thoughts and feelings from the global
mind. We sometimes alter these by our own thought, sometimes
not, and then pass them back into the global mind. In an
unconscious way, but not consciously, people are fully
telepathic as they receive and transmit thoughts and feelings
from and to the global mind atmosphere.
When a person experiences heart-centered consciousness, they
radiate a type of consciousness which is very different to
basic emotion. Heart-centered consciousness is a state of
unconditional love. It is not a product of emotional like or
dislike. Once started, nothing in physical reality affects the
flow of unconditional love. It is something that just is,
regardless of the circumstances.
Unconditional love is something that flows through your heart
when you reach up above day-to-day consciousness, then open
your heart and just allow it. This heart-centered consciousness
always sees the elegant solution to the sorrows that can arise
from basic human emotions.
Unconditional love allows, accepts and supports. It is not
something you try to do. It just flows when you allow it to
enter your heart and take your consciousness above the cares of
daily reality and into an expanded vista of awareness.
Each time you radiate unconditional love into the global mind
atmosphere, you upgrade the entire human experience, taking
humanity yet one more step into the unfolding New Reality.
