O, Great Spirit
Whose voice I hear on the winds,
And whose breath gives life to all the world,
Hear me.
I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty,
And make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset

Make my hands respect the things I have made
And my ears sharp to hear your voice.

Make me wise
So that I may understand the things you have taught my people.

Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock

I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother,
But to fight my greatest enemy ..... myself.

Make always ready to come to you
With clean hands and straight eyes.

So when life fades, as the fading sunset,
My spirit may come to you without shame.

Occurs to me essences of the Lords Prayer ????

What at 8,000 miles apart - how can that be --- ahh - but many of our modern brethren do not give credit to the ancients - do they??

I met a man - a man of the "church" as they say who was absolutely horrified that the ancients would have had any notion of love thoughts and aspired to worship the Great Spirit - I suggested you could call Him Scooby-Doo for all that a name matters - God is God is God ....... "It is only modern western man who aspires to true devotion" he countered somewhat gruffly - I very nearly hit him - a more pugnacious; bigotted wastrel I ........ I was not amused ........ I have pointed him in the direction of The Hopi Tribe, the Inca ... the Siberian Shaman - and suggested he read his bible and make comparative notes - then we will discuss further - arrogant twit - Will we ever meet again - I know not - but if we do I hope he is properly prepared with a cushion in trousers to protect his rear end when I dump him on it.

If Jesus can have a tantrum in the temple - I can have one on this forum... I make no apologies for my anger at hypocracy, bigotry and self agrandisement in its crudest form.

I hope somehow he sees the light - maybe a few could send prayers for the enlightenment of the stranger - I recently met - on a day that could not be spoilt of its beauty - not even by a, by a ...... by a a complete pleb
