The colours of the Aura
Your intuition knows what colours your aura is lacking at any given time. Now look at the colours below and ask your unconscious mind which colour you NEED at the moment. Which colour do you feel most drawn to at this time? Look at the colours below and decide which one you feel you most NEED right now.

WHAT ARE THE COLOURS OF MY AURA?
THE COLOUR RED
If this was the colour you chose then you're probably at a low ebb at the moment and you need to raise your energy levels. Athletes often have red auras as it's the colour of physical fitness. So if you feel a lack of this colour, then a little exercise may be just the energiser you need. Alternatively, if you feel this colour expresses how you are feeling now, then perhaps you need to calm down a little- we've all heard of "seeing red" when angry. In this instance, one could change the vibration by visualising the opposite colour green, which is calming
EXERCISE:
If the colour you were given at the beginning of this tape was red, then this is the centre that you need to draw universal power The red base centre shines with a brilliant red light infusing the whole body with strength and stamina. In particular those of you who enjoy sporting activities or about to expend a lot of physical or sexual energy may draw upon the red light of this spiritual centre and your performance may be enhanced. Once you've felt the benefit allow the centre to quieten down and close.
THE COLOUR ORANGE
Orange controls the area of the aura around the spleen which psychics consider to be the cleansing and distributor centre. A lack of orange in the aura means that you may need a good emotional tonic. You need stimulation, perhaps go out and enjoy yourself socially and feel your vitality return
EXERCISE: If your given colour was orange then this is the centre that you may need to work with today. Imagine that the world is awash with light and now draw this energy into your sacral centre. The centre illuminates with a bright orange light and then fills the whole body with purity and calm. Its healing energy will restore your poise and re-establish your sense of balance and harmony.
THE COLOUR YELLOW
Associated with the area around the solar plexus, yellow auric light controls the digestive processes of the body and the intellectual faculties of the logical mind. You may have been working too hard at work or concentrating too hard on a decision. Yellow is also an optimistic colour, like golden sunshine, stop worrying and think positive - everything will be all right.
EXERCISE:
If yellow was your given colour imagine now that yellow light is being drawn into your body though this centre. Follow the process for opening the centre and draw yellow light through your solar plexus. By doing this you will transmute your negative feelings and become more peaceful within. Also, this centre is the source of the creative energies. Artists, inventors and inspired people in general would benefit by doing this technique prior to starting a creative or new project.
THE COLOUR GREEN
A need for nature's colour means that you are seeking peace and harmony. Green is associated with the area around the heart and a need for this colour indicates that you would benefit from relating to your innermost feelings. Express yourself and seek the restorative power of Nature..
EXERCISE:
If green was your given colour today then you need to work with the heart chakra. Pull energy in the form of light into this centre. Feel it come alive with bright, vibrant green light infusing your body with healing energy. Notice how soothing this colour is. It makes you feel at harmony with yourself. The heart centre is the seat of compassion and unconditional love. Feel the warm embrace of the love that is inherent in all things. Love is the breath of life. Give yourself the green light to feel good about yourself.
THE COLOUR BLUE
Healers often have a blue colour in their aura. A lack of this colour means that you need to slow things down a little- concentrate on letting your body and mind find their natural harmony. If you've been overexcited lately, try relaxing with some music or just putting your feet up. Blue is the ideal colour to work with if you need to give or receive healing energy.
EXERCISE: By drawing brilliant light energy into this centre it will improve your communication and auditory skills. It might be beneficial to work with this centre when doing any activities involving sound such as talking, or listening to music. On a subtle level working with this centre increases your mediumistic powers and in particular clairaudience- the ability to hear spirit communication. The Tibetans lamas worked with this centre to trigger out of body travel during the dream state. If you imagine a blue light at the throat centre which floods the back of the brain as you are about to fall asleep it may help you to experience lucid dreaming.
THE COLOUR INDIGO
Indigo auric light is connected with psychic abilities. You may enjoy taking an interest in the paranormal or Extra Sensory Perception. Your attention wants to turn inwards. Perhaps you could understand yourself better if you wrote down your dreams and interpreted what they are trying to tell you. This is a time of contemplation and renewed self-awareness. A time to listen and receive guidance from the inner self.
EXERCISE: If this was the colour you were given you may want to draw light into the centre of the forehead. By imagining a brilliant indigo light in the centre of your forehead, you will trigger your intuitive powers. Ideas may come to you, and simple solutions to problems could become apparent when you draw upon this energy. This is the centre to work with when imaginative skills are needed.
THE COLOUR VIOLET
This is the spiritual colour. If you feel that this colour is the colour your aura needs, then now may be the time to start a spiritual discipline. So forget your material worries for a while and focus on the higher things in life and find a deepening of your inner stability and harmony. I have noticed that the aura of vegetarians often has a violet hue. Dietary consideration may therefore be of importance.
OTHER COLOURS:
THE COLOUR BROWN
It's usually the brighter hues that are seen by psychics in the aura. You are probably drawn to brown for psychological reasons. Brown is a strong colour- the colour of the Earth. You would benefit most by concentrating on practical solutions to life's problems. You may need grounding or centring.
THE COLOUR BLACK
Black is the absence of light. It can act as a protective shield around the aura if you're feeling over sensitive. It will seal you from negative vibrations. On the other hand, you also may feel that your aura is lacking in colour. You don't need more black, you need brightening up a bit. Imagine that you radiate a rainbow of lights all around your body and you'll soon feel your spirits rise. Colour can help lift depression.
THE COLOUR WHITE
Purity is implied by white. It is the colour of spiritual energy. If this is the colour you feel your aura needs, then you may be seeking divine inspiration. Re-establish your contact with your core beliefs. "Know thyself" as the saying goes. Have you been taking life a bit too seriously perhaps? Humour and laughter are God's best medicine. How about a funny video or book to cheer you up? Link-up with the free and innocent part of yourself.

Earth Chakras
Caretaking The Soul Of Gaia
As we walk upon the earth, we walk upon a living being more similar to ourselves than we imagine. Just like us, the earth has both a physical body and an energetic body, complete with a chakra system identified by ancient mystics and modern scientists alike. Gaia, as the earth is called when acknowledged as a living entity in her own right, has her own life force and her own path of unfolding, separate from us, but including us. Human beings and Gaia are intertwined on every level, not just the physical, and an awareness of her chakras can help us to acknowledge, heal, and enable her on her path, just as she selflessly returns the favor to us.
It is generally agreed that Gaia has seven major chakras distributed evenly across her body and connected to one another via two lines of energy that intersect at various points on the earth. The first chakra is located at Mount Shasta in Northern California; the second is in Lake Titicaca in South America; the third chakra is in Uluru-Kata Tjuta in Australia; the fourth chakra resides in Glastonbury in England; the fifth chakra is at the Great Pyramid in Mount of Olives; the sixth chakra is in Kuh-e Malek Siah in Iran, and the seventh chakra is in Mount Kailas in Tibet. In addition to her seven major chakras, she has minor chakras and other vortexes of energy that are significant to her life-energy system, and all these energy centers need caretaking. Just as we can heal ourselves through our own chakras, we can heal and support Gaia through hers.
While it would be a wonderful experience to visit one of the earth’s chakras, you can always participate in loving and healing Gaia wherever you are. Maintaining an awareness of the regions in which her chakras reside can be very powerful. You may place photos of the locales on your altar, sending healing energy to each of her chakras during your meditations. As you consciously connect your energy system to her energy system, the true meaning of groundedness reveals itself—it is a relationship with Gaia in which we acknowledge our calling as the caretakers of her soul.

Dowsing the Aura
Holding the rods comfortably and loosely at mid-chest height, stand some distance away from the person whose aura you want to detect. Seven to ten metres (twenty to thirty feet) away would be good, but it will still work in a more restricted space, although you may not find the outer layer. Then tune in to the person's unique energy vibrations by saying aloud or silently "I am looking for this person's aura" (insert the name of the person). Providing you are far enough away from the person, as you walk very slowly and evenly towards them, when the rods react by crossing or opening out (or whatever reaction is normal for you) you will have found the outer edge of their aura. If you are already within that person's aura when you start, the rods may begin to move immediately. You can stop when the rods react. Then slowly walk forward again until you reach the next area where the rods change their reaction. It is not necessary to continually reaffirm that you are looking for the person's aura-saying it once at the beginning is enough. And so on, until you get very close to the person. But do stop before the dowsing rods crash into the person! Remember the innermost layer(s) may be only a few centimetres from the body, so you may only be able to detect five or six of the seven layers.
For the majority of people, the layers of their auras seem to be alternately positive and negative energy-not meaning good or bad, but simply indicating a different set of vibrations, similar to positive and negative polarities in magnetism. However, some people's auric layers are all the same-all positive, or all negative-and others have the first three layers positive, and the next four negative, and so on. Occasionally I find that a person has a few particularly active layers in their aura which don't register as positive or negative, but which when detected with dowsing rods cause the rods to circulate like helicopter blades, as I have mentioned above. Technically these layers might be neutral energy, but I prefer to call them "curly"! However, each person is individual, so there is no right or wrong in this-just as there is no right or wrong about having dark hair instead of blonde. That's just the way it is!
What you may find interesting is to try detecting someone's aura before a Reiki attunement, and then again afterwards, and compare the results. I sometimes have my students do this. To their amazement, they find that their auras have expanded to two or three times the size they were before the attunement. You need a very large space to check this out and usually will have to go outside to get enough space! It also works if you try it before and after a Reiki treatment, although the expansion isn't usually quite so great. Another fun thing to try is detecting the auras around plants. One of my students was quite freaked out when detecting the aura of a large houseplant when he felt himself being pushed back by the plant's aura-which I guess indicated that the plant didn't particularly like its energy field being interfered with in that way! Plants are living beings, so if you try this, remember to ask permission first (even if you feel silly doing so); if you sense any discomfort, or even get a "no" in your head, then choose another plant.

Animal Chakras
Many animals do not see colour as we do, but this does not mean they are not affected by colour energies. Animals are very sensitive to differing energies so they also pick up the varying energies of colour. To very early human beings, colour and light was of profound importance since their very existence was regulated by light and dark and they would have been very conscious of different energies. With the advent of modern living, including artificial light, humans have become less sensitive to these energy vibrations. However, animals still retain this sensitivity today and the influences of different qualities of light still affect all living things on many levels.
Similar Chakras
Animals have chakras/energy centres the same as we do and their chakras are similarly situated – given that the majority of them are more horizontal than we are - they are in very similar places. Animals do have another main chakra, which is situated over the top of the shoulder, which is called the brachial chakra. This chakra is sometimes called the key chakra since it is a powerful one and can give access to all the other chakras.
Different Energy Systems to Humans
Animals’ energy systems work rather differently from our human ones and they receive and give out energy through individual chakras and this makes them very sensitive to subtle vibrational and atmospheric changes. In the adult human the energy enters through a chakra just above the crown and then enters our system through the crown chakra and through the pineal gland. Here it is broken down in to several coloured rays. Being focused on the head and brain, the human rational mind influences and sorts through the stimuli it receives from outside and assesses which vibrations to respond to and which we can ignore. But, unlike adult humans, most animals have a dispersed energetic system primarily due to their bodies having horizontal rather than vertical alignment. Most land animals have a dispersed energy system, like a human baby, or a little bit like an adult who has maintained the ability to experience things through connected senses as in Synaesthesia where sound, light, colour, shape, taste, smell and touch are still inter-linked. Some animals become stressed before a thunderstorm as they are able to pick up other types of vibrations in the air apart from electro-magnetic vibrations which we are unable to detect in the same way.
Light and Colour energy
Light has a profound effect on all living cells since every cell is light sensitive and also gives off its own light vibration. The cells of the skin act as light filters and allow light of all frequencies to pass to the tissues and cells through the body, which of course includes the organs and glands. Colour energy can be used to energise or balance the body's energy centres and can act as a catalyst for the body’s own healing processes. This energy can help with emotional, mental, spiritual or physical issues – colour therapy has no side effects (blood pressure), is perfectly safe whether being used for adults, children/babies or animals and can be used alongside any other therapy whether conventional medicine or another complementary therapy. Chemical reactions occur within the cells which facilitate the cells’ functions, i.e. growth, hormone release and the “normal” functioning of each cell. For example, day and night / light and dark trigger release of different hormones relating to our body clocks and if left to nature, we would sleep when it is dark and be active when day light comes. Artificial lighting in more modern times has confused this simple reaction somewhat.
